Blunted Funk BF011: Mike DeVellis - "Introlecution"
The original is an instrumental space-breaks jam by the talented Mike DeVellis from NYC with live horns, keys, and drums. Mike's production has come a long way from playing horn for Joeski and Alexi Delano in the late 90's to his own releases on OM Recs, Citrona, and his label Pockit Recs. Gabriel Black (Tangible / Tarantic) chimes in with a funky bass-heavy House remix, Anthony Mansfield (Rong, Hector Works) and Sneak-E Pete go deep and dark, and Justin Johnson (Cable Recordings/ Southern Vice Recordings) wraps things up on the electro breaks tip.
"Nice one mate! Well appreciated! Mr.
DeVellis is one helluva talented guy huh?"
- Dubble D (20:20 Vision)
"The mix Pete & Anthony did is mental...love the sounds and atmosphere. Gabe's remix is one of the best things I've heard him do. It's great. I'll be playing both.
- QBurns Abstract Message (Eighth Dimension)
"Mike's OG - awesome tune - support at gigs and radio for sure! great horns! funky as hell! JJ's remix - lovin the bass and the theme melody a lot! An awesome tune with a whole lot of old school flava! I wish there was more releases like this these days!"
